Jan Harrison, LCSW
Hello! My name is Jan and I’m trauma-focused, with 26 years of experience across residential, day treatment, school-based, and outpatient settings in both community mental health and private practice. I work with depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, caregiver burnout, addictions, grief, and stress, and I’m proud to be a therapist for therapists and an LGBTQIA+ ally. I currently see clients ages 15 and up.
I tell every new client the same thing: this is a judgment-free zone. We all carry our own issues and hurts, and I treat every client with respect, warmth, and directness. My approach blends compassion, clinical expertise, humor, and evidence-based interventions tailored to what you actually need — not a one-size-fits-all plan.
My pace is your pace. I’ll encourage the hard work it takes to find peace, but this is your journey, and you decide what’s right for you. I draw on CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, DBT, EMDR, Family/Marital therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Somatic approaches — meeting you where you are, and helping you set goals, work toward them, and adjust as needed.
Life can be both deeply challenging and profoundly beautiful. Navigating transitions —from the pressures of school to caring for aging loved ones — can stretch us emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I’ve learned through my own life and my work that healing requires vulnerability, trust, and the courage to be seen honestly.
Whether you’re in a current crisis or working toward long-term growth, I’ll walk alongside you.
