Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.
These events might include natural disasters, accidents, combat, or violence.
Symptoms of PTSD can include intrusive memories, nightmares, flashbacks, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the event.
Individuals with PTSD may also experience hypervigilance, avoidance of reminders of the trauma, and changes in mood and cognition.
HOW TO KNOW IF EMDR
IS RIGHT FOR YOU
You’re always on edge.
It's like you're always feeling like something bad might happen, even if you can't see it.
You never know what might make you feel really scared or worried—like seeing something, smelling something, or just thinking about something.
You’re never safe from awful intrusive thoughts, whether asleep or awake, alone or in public.
You’ve tried so hard to move beyond your past. “It was long ago, and I should be over it by now.”
And yet, the further you try to run from it, the closer it seems to get.
But there is always way forward.
EMDR is a clinically proven technique for relieving the pain of traumatic memories.
It uses the brain’s natural healing powers to resolve unprocessed wounds at their source to remove their distressing control over you.
Let EMDR take away the power of painful memories and give you your life back.
